St. Damien deVeuster

Welcome

Throughout recorded history, there are times when ordinary men and women step forward and devote their life in an extraordinary way to relieve the suffering of those who cannot help themselves. In 1864, Father Damien de Veuster was such a man.

Father Damien devoted his life to relieving the suffering of those stricken leprosy. While leprosy is no longer the problem it was, there are modern day 'leprosies' that afflict us. Father Damien's work is a testament to all who labor to make the world a better place. For those who suffer, Damien's compassion is a reminder that there is always a way through the most troubling of times and an encouragement that we do not have to find our way alone.

DAMIEN, by Aldyth Morris, is a powerful story told in a compelling one-man play where the true meaning of love for our fellow man is unveiled through the portrayal of this amazing man.
